It is prevalent in adults between 40 and 60 years old, and it can possibly be caused by a central lesion, virus infection, vasculopathy, autoimmune disease or others. Improvement of sudden bilateral hearing loss after vertebral artery stenting.
Bilateral deafness is a rare but possible symptom of vertebrobasilar ischemia. We report a case of sudden bilateral sensorineural hearing loss caused by bilateral vertebral artery (VA) occlusion which dramatically improved after stenting. A 54-year-old man was admitted with sudden onset of bilateral deafness, vertigo, and drowsy mental status. Brain diffusion-weighted MRI showed acute infarctio...

BACKGROUND Acute ischemic stroke in the distribution of the anterior inferior cerebellar artery is known to be associated with hearing loss, facial weakness, ataxia, nystagmus, and hypalgesia. There have been few reports on bilateral deafness and vertebrobasilar occlusive disease. Furthermore, previous reports have not emphasized the inner ear as a localization of bilateral deafness. متن کاملBecker's nevus and breast hypoplasia: report of a case
Becker's nevus is a unilateral hyperpigmented area of skin with geographical borders. It is usually located on shoulders, anterior chest, scapular region and upper arms. Sometimes it shows evidence of androgen hypersensitivity and co-localizing with other developmental anomalies. We report a 12-year-old girl with clinical and histopathological findings compatible with Becker's nevus on he...

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) is usually unilateral and can be associated with tinnitus and vertigo. The most common causes of this disease are known to be the vascular and viral agents, but immune disorders are involved in the development of sudden deafness. The antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an acquired autoimmune system disorder, which is defined as the presence of antiphosph...
متن کاملMagnetic resonance imaging and sudden deafness.
Sudden deafness is a disorder defined as acute sensorineural deafness of unknown etiology. To determine whether establishing the pathogenesis of this disease is possible, this study analyzed the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of early stages of sudden deafness in combination with the clinical results of treatments. The MRI findings of 18 patients with sudden deafness included three cases of s...
